Grace Village Community Garden
The Grace Village Community Garden was constructed by MBCC in 2011, through the Young Professionals community group and help from other groups. It was designed to provide physical & spiritual nourishment for the Fairfield community by by growing healthy food and healthy relationships.
This project has led to many great partnerships and relationships in the area. We hope it is a place to experience God’s love and enjoy his creation, a place to live out the gospel in the community of Fairfield. It is also a family-friendly opportunity to get your hands dirty in the process of serving with others for the sake of the gospel. The GVCG is located on property owned by Grace House, one of our local mission partners.
“Do not labor for the food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.” John 6:27a
How to get involved
1. Volunteer: We will have several churchwide volunteer days throughout the year. Look for announcements of upcoming dates.
2. Cutting Zinnias: We will need help once the zinnias start to bloom! Again this year, we plan to sell them to local flower wholesalers as a fundraiser for the garden. Several volunteers are needed for an hour, once a week to cut flowers. It’s lots of fun, and if you would like to help, please email Ann Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Pray that God will provide a harvest of physical and spiritual fruit. We want to grow healthy food and healthy relationships.
